Samsung Electronics has launched its latest foldable smartphones in around 40 international locations in hopes that the new products could boost lackluster international smartphone sales amid excessive inflation.

The world's largest smartphone maker mentioned that Galaxy Z Fold 4 and Flip 4 will be officially launched alongside Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Buds 2 Pro in South Korea, the United States and France, among others, and plans to expand the range of products. . Availability in around one hundred and thirty countries for September.

Pre-orders for foldable phones have been placed in around 70 international locations since Samsung unveiled them during an online Unpacked event earlier this month.

Samsung has seen strong demand for its fourth-generation foldable devices in India, registering more than 50,000 pre-orders for the Galaxy Fold4 and Galaxy Flip4 in less than 12 hours.

The Galaxy Z Flip4 is available in Bora Purple, Graphite and Pink Gold colors and is priced at Rs 89,999 for the 8GB + 128GB variant and Rs 94,999 for the 8GB + 256GB variant.

The 'Custom Edition', which offers lens colors and body options, will be available at Samsung Live and Samsung Exclusive stores for Rs 97,999, the company said in a press release.

The Galaxy Z Fold4 is available in grey-green, beige and phantom black colors and is priced at Rs 154,999 for the 12GB + 256GB variant and Rs 164,999 for the 12GB + 512GB variant.

Consumers can even purchase the 12GB + 1TB variant exclusively from Samsung Live and Samsung Exclusive stores for Rs 184,999.

In South Korea, 970,000 pre-orders were placed for the seven days ending Aug. 22, the most ever for a foldable phone and about 5.4 percent more than the previous record, reports information company Yonhap.

While Samsung is an early forerunner in the global foldable phone market, the new phone models don't appear to have any game-changing upgrades or specs, according to some insiders.

The latest collection of foldable smartphones has come at a time when the world's largest smartphone maker, like many other consumer products companies, is battling headwinds from global financial troubles that are causing consumers to spend much less money on unnecessary things.

According to market research agency Canalys, Samsung shipped 60 million smartphones in the second quarter and is the global smartphone market with a 21 percent market share. The number is 19 percent lower than the previous quarter, but slightly higher than a year ago, when it was 58 million.
