LG shows off intelligent QuickCircle case ahead of G3 smartphone launch

Despite the fact that LG is yet to raise the curtain on its latest flagship LG G3, it’s already started showing off accessories for the device. The QuickCircle case provides the user with some awesome  functionality before they even open the case, letting them place calls, take pictures, check out their health related stats and more.

LG’s approach to the  QuickCircle case is very different from others. Rather than providing a quick peek at the time and notifications like the HTC Dot View case, or creating an integrated card holder like the Galaxy S5’s Flip Wallet, the QuickCircle effectively mimics a smaller screen handset. This lets users make calls, check the various city’s weather, listen to music and even take photos, all from the small circular window to the phone’s display.

The case also features an interesting smart lighting feature, wherein the inside of the window lights up when the case is either opened or closed, or a notification/call is received.

The QuickCircle case provides significantly more functionality than much of the competitio...

The case is wireless charging compatible and comes in a choice of five colors. Interestingly, the company has announced plans to make the software development kit (SDK) for QuickCircle publicly available, meaning that the home-brew functionality of the case should only improve over time. There are currently no details on a price or release date for the accessory.

We’ll have full details on the flagship handset following next week’s unveil. In the meantime, feel free to scroll down and check out the video below for more on the QuickCircle case.
